Presidential Inauguration Day

President Theodore Roosevelt delivering his inaugural address, Washington, D.C.

Today the United States of America held its 58th inauguration when  it swore in Donald Trump to be the 45th President of the United States of America. To learn more about the history of the Presidential Inaugurations the Library of Congress has created a web site entitled “I Do Solemnly Swear...”: Presidential Inaugurations. The web site includes diaries and letters written by presidents and those who witnessed the inaugurations, handwritten drafts of inaugural addresses, broadsides, inaugural tickets and programs, prints, photographs, and sheet music.
