Tax Season

The government is encouraging filing electronically even stronger this year by not mailing out the print forms to anyone. If you want to mail your tax return instead of electronically filing it, your local public library may be nearest place to get the forms if you don’t have access to the internet and a printer. Many public libraries have ordered and kept the forms the last few years because the post offices have stopped carrying them. It is becoming a bigger burden to libraries as the government gives fewer services. Senior citizens especially have a harder time complying with the electronic filing when many of them do not use computers. Others have given up their internet access at home as they have lost jobs and scaled back on expenses. They come to the library to find the tax forms, print them from the internet, or file their taxes.

Tax Return Deadline: April 18, 2011
